Our Own Personal Luge Track

Our sidewalks have been extremely icy since Christmas.  It's safer to walk on the narrow, (still icy) streets than it is to even attempt the sidewalks, with their solid coating of ice concealed and polished by just a tiny dusting of snow.  It makes outside activity difficult, unless, of course if you want to build your own luge track.  It just so happens that we live on a hill (imagine that, in the city we reside!)  There is a sidewalk that goes down our block at a nice tilt.  The sidewalk currently is blocked off from the street by an enormous pile of snow from the plow that runs the whole length of every street in the city, really.  On the other side of the sidewalk is a steep incline up to the houses on our block.  In the valley is the perfect iced luge track.  At the end of the track there is yet another enormous snowbank to prevent anyone from sailing into the street at the bottom of the hill.  Our luge has provided much entertainment the past few weeks.   It's nice to have a place to sled right out your back door.  We haven't even had to load up the kidlets and their sleds to conquer one of the giant sledding hills; we've been too busy sailing right down our own sidewalk.

Wow what fun, Gramma Robbie wishes she could be there to do it too! I do love to go sledding. Looks like these two are really having fun.
