Cousin Weekend: Cousins Visit the Beach

When you take a crew of cousins (and a bag of towels and a pan of bars) to the beach, sometimes there’s so much going on that you don’t even know which direction to aim your camera.  It was a frenzy of activity!  We arrived for the blue hour, just after the sun set, and stayed until the mosquitos got too ferocious.

There was a game of tag played across the boulders.

Sweet Cousin Elizabeth was nimble like a mountain goat. So was her sister.

Cousin Katherine decided to wade out to visit The Banana on a rock. She was a little surprised about the water temperature.

Then Cousin Nathaniel decided that he needed to join The Banana on the rock as well.  He had no idea the water was going to be that cold.  He made it, but he was truly shocked.  “I’m going to die!  This water is too cold!  I’m going to die!  I’ve never been so cold!”  There was a bit of hysteria, so The Banana did a little rescue mission to get him back to land, where Grandma was waiting with a towel and I handed him a chocolate cookie to distract him.  Soon all was well, and the masses descended and all the cookies were gone.
