Ya Ya and The Banana drew princesses, and then glued on beads and buttons to make a more dimensional wardrobe.  If you look closely at Ya Ya’s princess, you will notice that the princess is carrying a baby in her Moby wrap, and is toting along a diaper bag in her hand.  I love it.  The Banana thoroughly enjoyed the gluing part of the project.

Inspired by this post on the blog The Artful Parent, I gave each of the big kidlets a large piece of paper with a hole cut out, and told them they could use any art supplies they wanted to make something on the page that includes the hole.  All three kidlets chose to use acrylic paint, which made for some really neat textures in the artwork.  Mr. Sneaky Pants also used oil pastels for part of his creation.

The Banana’s piece is more abstract.  I love the blended colors.  (Her sister was so mad at her for mixing up the paint even though they each had their own tray of paint).

Ya Ya spent a long time making a cat.  Sometimes she puts her head through the hole and it reminds me of those big pieces of board that you have family members stand behind and act crazy while you take their picture.

Mr. Sneaky Pants went right to work making his hole into a sun shining down on a castle.  Inside the castle are knights holding blue shields, and even though he didn’t think he would be good at making a dragon, he was happy to try, and his blue dragon and it turned out wonderfully.  He worked so diligently.  I don’t often find projects that inspire him so much.
