Sunset

We were down to the rocky beach in the late evening.  The sunset was beautiful.  Even though we were facing east and the sun was setting behind some clouds to the west, the way the sky became illuminated and then changed was magnificent.  I am rarely out and about at sunset these days, so I think I appreciate getting to see a sunset even more, especially down at Lake Superior where you can actually see the sky.

It was a warm summer evening.  If the breeze came off the lake, it was cool and crisp.  If the breeze switched just a hair and came off the land, it was warm and balmy.  There were about twelve hundred enormous dragonflies swarming in the sky feeding off mosquitos. We appreciated them, because the mosquitos were so busy fleeing they weren’t in the mood to hunt people.  Also, dragonflies are just so interesting.
