Reflection
I don’t often use this space for commentary about politics and current events, but my state has been in the middle of extensive trauma and turmoil for the past week. All week things have gotten worse and worse. I’m blessed to have a home to live in, food to eat, and security. I will just say that this week I have been upholding the people of my state in prayer. I have never prayed so hard for the leaders of my city and state and the difficult decisions they are making every hour of every day. I have been praying for comfort for those grieving, comfort for those who have lost people, security and neighborhood infrastructure, for people who are deeply hurt. I have been praying for all of us who are trying to raise caring and compassionate future generations. Sometimes I feel helpless in knowing what to say and how to say it, or what I can do. But perhaps praying is exactly what I am supposed to be doing.
