Remnants from Homework
I typed the title of this post, and then wondered, can you really call schoolwork “homework” if all of the schoolwork is completed at home all the time? It just doesn’t quite feel right.
Everyone has been back to their little study corner in the house this week as school has started. YaYa left for her upcoming semester of college. The Devious Snail has been working on the guest bed in my office. Mr. Trouble on Feet has been working in the family room at his extraordinarily neat and organized desk. I do have to hand it to him, that kid keeps a neat desk, the most pristine work surface in the family.
The Banana long ago staked her claim on a corner of the cold, dark basement where the papasan sits. The chair was moved down there last winter when the wooden floor was laid in the family room, and since we were waiting months for our tile to be finished in that room, we kept the chair downstairs. It’s become such a popular study place (and place to watch movies on the laptop) that it looks like the papasan will be staying there for some time in the future, at least as long as everyone is still doing school at home.
