Just Rained

It has been a hot and dry summer, and while we are faring a little better than a lot of other nearby places, it is still alarmingly dry. When we got two big thunderstorms within days of each other it was pretty glorious to watch the rain, and best of all, smell that wonderful after-rain aroma! The water freshened everything up and everyone seemed to relax a little too.

I happened to walk by the front door after the biggest rainclouds passed by, and the sun was just peeking through a tiny bit to make a vibrant sunset. It was still sprinkling, and there was a lot of lightning in the storm, so I watched from the entryway, catching the cool breeze through the screen.
