Halloween
Mr. Trouble on Feet was excited to trick or treat the neighborhood with a couple of friends from school. He pulled this villain costume together from his closet with some help from his big brother.
The Banana and her friend who have gone trick or treating together for years sadly came to the realization that they were probably too old to go this year, and since they didn’t have any really small siblings to “take” trick or treating around the neighborhood, they decided to watch a movie together instead. The Banana did dress up in a crazy costume to attend her choir rehearsal earlier in the afternoon, but I missed getting a picture of that. She baked and decorated monster cupcakes to take to her friend’s house.
I thought we might not get the pumpkins carved, but we did manage to squeeze it in late in the afternoon, right before we started handing out treats at the front door. In fact, The Banana was finishing up pumpkins and putting them on the steps right when the first kids came up the sidewalk.
The Devious Snail helped pass out treats and wrangle the cat, who kept trying to escape. It was fun to see all the happy kids in costumes. I think they were more joyful this year because they were so excited to actually get to go trick or treating, and the weather was beautiful, which made it more fun, too.
