Peanut Maximus has been saying the funniest little expressions he picks up from people in the family, like “My goodness gracious!” and “I’m sorry about that.” He’s also come up with a few great statements on his own, like “Turn off that snow now” in response to the weather, and “Somebody turned on the dark” when it is time to put his pajamas on.
The Banana went on a trip to the Cities to go shopping last week during spring break, and she brought back not one but two bundles of purple tulips (my favorite flower) as a surprise for me! I was indeed surprised, and I’m enjoying them so much. Most of the time I feel like I don’t deserve flowers because my house is crazy and cluttered and a mess, but flowers are so cheerful and lovely even in the middle of chaos.
A few months ago my wedding ring broke. The prongs that hold the stone just twisted right over and collapsed, so I couldn’t wear it for a bit. (That stressed The Banana out so much she got her dad to go shopping for a temporary replacement pearl ring so my finger wasn’t empty) Now the real ring is fixed and cleaned I love how it sparkles in the sunlight again. The new prongs are perfectly placed.
I’ve been loving rainsuits for the toddlers in my life. They are the greatest invention since sliced cheese, keeping little bodies try in the muck and mud and puddles of all sorts. They are perfect for melting snow and precipitation of all kinds, plus the toddlers look like little bumbling astronauts or something. Adorable.
I’ve already mentioned how during the month of March and the first week in April we had so many concerts to participate in and attend. In the midst of that, I loved hearing some really special music performed, like Symphony 4 by Leshnoff, which I had never heard before and The Banana, Mr. TOF and I all loved so much. Now I’m listening to a recording of it every week. Also, at my choir concert our accompanist, David Packa, played an amazing piano duet that he had composed, and it felt like the piano was an orchestra. It even gave me goosebumps, which I don’t think I have ever experienced from a piano before.
Also, last week I got to attend a performance of Angela Hewitt playing the Bach Goldberg Variations, and it was definitely placed on my list of most magical musical experiences ever. The audience was so entranced with her playing that you could have heard a pin drop. Listening to a recording of Angela Hewitt is no match at all for seeing and hearing her play in person. No wonder she’s world famous for her technique and Bach interpretation. My goodness! It was such an amazing experience.
I have a new pair of wide leg jeans that I have been loving. I haven’t loved a pair of jeans for about two decades, so I’m pretty excited about them.
