Some Things I’ve been Loving

  • One of my kidlets off at college (OK, so I only have one kidlet off to college) has been writing hilarious ice cream reviews on a secret Instagram account, and the writing has totally been cracking me up.
  • I splurged on a weighted blanket that is covered with lovely milky fleece. I wasn’t sure at first, but now I am loving it! Unfortunately everyone else in the house (except Dr. Peds) is loving it too, so I’m always having to go search for my blanket that keeps disappearing.
  • I have really been appreciating Arrowhead Chorale rehearsals this fall. Even though singing spaced far apart wearing masks (they are crazy singer masks that make us all look like ducks!) makes things challenging, it is just so lovely to sing together in a choir. I really missed it. The delicious harmonies that a choir can make is one of my favorite things in life.
  • It’s pomegranate season. I know I mention this every November. I really do love a good pomegranate.
  • I’ve also been loving a pumpkin pecan yeast bread that has a lightly sweetened cream cheese spread this fall. I used to make it all the time, but then somehow forgot about it for like 12 years! Last year I remembered it in the middle of winter when I was using up some pumpkin puree I had frozen. It’s a lovely fall bread that makes a great breakfast.
  • Although I am not loving how the daylight disappears this time of year, I have been greatly enjoying walking outside in the cool temperatures. I love walking when the temperature is in the upper 30’s and lower 40’s. I also love the way the fall light twinkles and streams through the trees.
