The First Days at Home
Peanut Maximus loves cuddles, all day, all the time.
He also likes sink baths after he gets over the initial shock of the first rinse down. This is nice, because a lot of the other babies in the family were definitely not a fan of bath time.
One of the sweetest moments of our first weeks home was discovering that Peanut Maximus loves listening to his siblings practice. Our first evening home Peanut Maximus was having a fussy time. Mr. TOF pulled out his viola and started practicing and all of the sudden Peanut Maximus opened his eyes and was completely calm. He seemed to know right where he belonged when he heard a little bit of Telemann’s viola concerto! Then, after a few minutes The Banana started practicing her harp, and guess where Peanut Maximus really liked being? Right in the kitchen halfway in between the viola playing Telemann and the harp playing sonatinas, where the sound mixed together. Pretty much everyday since then Peanut Maximus has enjoyed listening to practicing. It doesn’t matter if he’s right next to the trombone or the piano or a fast playing violin, he just nestles right in and relaxes. Obviously, this is a very handy bit of fortune for our household, where there is a cacophony of practicing taking place all the time.
Peanut Maximus has been enjoying stroller rides around the neighborhood. Sometimes he zonks out for the entire ride. Sometimes he is awake and looking around at all the passing scenery. So far he has rarely been fussy in the stroller. I forgot how much I have always enjoyed pushing a stroller around! It’s nice to have a relaxed walking partner.
Peanut Maximus is NOT a fan of lying by himself in his bassinet, or anywhere, really. He is also not a fan of digestion.
