Three Months

I’m a little late with an update about Peanut Maximus. He’s growing, growing, growing! The past few weeks he’s gotten less scrunchy, which makes him seem so very long. He’s been long from the start, even in the very first ultrasound measurements. He’s also gotten so much more coordinated, and can hold his head up like a pro. He’s working hard on his abdominal muscles, and does crunches of one sort or another all day long.

Peanut Maximus has been liking tummy time more these days, and when he’s on his back he likes to kick his legs with a vengeance. He doesn’t mind being on his back during the day when he’s awake and ready to play, but he still doesn’t really enjoy it at night when it is time to sleep. The nights seem to a delicate balance of holding him enough that he zonks out hard enough to lay down on his own, but not too hard or he will wake up when he is put in the bassinet. If it were up to Peanut Maximus, he’d go to bed at 5:00 p.m. and wake up for the day at 3:00 a.m. every day. He’d prefer if someone just sat up holding him all night.

He’s full of smiles, and uses them to be charming. We’ve had a few dream giggles, and a couple of real, awake giggles just this last week. Baby giggles are the best.

Peanut Maximus has been getting a little more cheerful, thank goodness! There are some signs that we might be developing a eating-playing-sleeping routine throughout the day, which would be a very welcome development!
