We put up the crib for Peanut Maximus right after Christmas, and it turns out that he likes it a lot better than the bassinet. I’m not sure why. However, I am so happy, because this baby HATED the bassinet, and sleeping is getting better bit by bit. We are going longer stretches at night, and the napping situation still is not ideal, but the naps are getting more predictable and a little longer most of the time.
Mr. TOF is working hard on his History Day project, and it is going much better than I anticipated. He has a topic that he’s really interested in, and I’m learning so much. I’ll share more in the future.
Peanut Maximus and I have figured out a little routine throughout the day when I’m not teaching that allows me to sneak in some piano practice time while he has floor time. It won’t work as well when he’s more mobile, but for the time being, I’m happy to get a little practice time in each day, even it if it does come in teeny tiny snatches.
This cast iron scrubber is amazing. Dr. Peds got one, and when I used it the first time, I was astounded.
I bought a bunch of additional laundry baskets because even though we had many laundry baskets, I never seemed to have enough when I needed them. It turns out that just have extra laundry baskets has made the laundry routine go so much more smoothly for me. Now if I could only get my teenagers to actually take their clean laundry back upstairs and put it away! They use their laundry baskets in the basement like dressers to hold their clothing, and just go down and pick out an outfit out of the basket nearly every day. I wouldn’t care, except that the piles of clean laundry in their basket grow so mountainous that the clothes start spilling into other people’s baskets.
