2023 Sunday Night at the Beach: Edition 4

YaYa, Peanut Maximus and I headed up the shore just a bit to Stoney Point. It was a gorgeous evening. The temperature was perfect. The water was silky. Stoney Point is always one of my favorite beaches. It is so beautiful.

Peanut Maximus would not probably have needed his sweatshirt, but we put it on him anyway because the built in mittens are our go-to method to prevent rock eating.

He was all about exploring the flat boulders worn smooth by waves, and all about getting into all the cracks and nooks. He loved the little rocks too, but he especially loved the water! He was just determined to get in that water, and YaYa happily assisted. He loved the tiny waves. He loved splashing and kicking. He loved it all, and he was soaking wet by the end.

Since it was a holiday weekend, there were lots of groups meandering around at the beach, but it wasn’t crowded at all, and it felt so peaceful there. There were some older kids jumping around and hauling beachwood here and there. The craziest thing we saw was an old man with an enormous parrot on his shoulder talking to another not quite as old man.

We would have stayed longer, but we knew it was past his bedtime and we had to drive back home and then deliver YaYa to her summer work accommodations, so we headed out in a timely fashion.
