Warrior Princess: The Banana Tries Archery
The Banana, Peanut Maximus and I stopped for a little mini -visit at my mom’s house on the way to International Music Camp drop off. We were there for a couple of days, and then my mom watched Peanut Maximus while I drove The Banana to camp before leaving to drive home the next day.
When we drove down the driveway and parked the car, The Banana instantly noticed my brother’s target (on a handy dandy cart that he made) for his bow, and she lighted right up, “Do you think he’d let me try?”
I said, “Let’s ask! He probably would!”
So the next morning they got all the equipment out and my brother explained how everything worked and what to do. The Banana had tried archery just a little bit in middle school on a much less fancy bow, and like the warrior princess she was and is, she showed up one of her classmates who commented that she would be not very good at it. She was good.
In fact, she’s still good at it, even on a fancy bow she had never tried before. She LOVED it. It turns out that her rowing muscles were just the right muscles for archery, and she kept going and going until she started to get a little shaky. It was one of her favorite parts about her trip to North Dakota.
She loves shoes. She loves beautiful dresses. She’s strong and has good aim. If my kingdom were in peril, I’d want her on my side.
