Look in the hammock before you sit! I accidentally sat on a big, fuzzy bumblebee one morning. He had been hanging out in the hammock to keep dry from the rain, but I certainly didn’t see him, and he was definitely not a happy little guy. He managed to sting me through a thick sweatshirt and a long sleeve shirt underneath!
Whipped riccota cheese is amazing. Oh my goodness! How did I never encounter this before? It’s so easy to make, too. You just dump a bunch of ricotta cheese in a mixing bowl and whip. Literally, that’s it. I love it on nut and seed crackers.
I learned about the composer Sergei Bortkiewicz. He was a Ukrainian born composer in the Romantic era, and I had never heard about him before. At a recent symphony concert the amazing guest pianist, who was Ukrainian, played one of his short works as an encore, and I loved it so much I came home, searched for the music and started learning it, and learning about this composer that was unknown to me.
