Posting and picture taking has been a bit less than normal here this week, and will continue to be for the next few days.  My Grandma Edna passed away last Sunday, and our week has been filled with good memories of her, along with lots of arranging so that we could take a very, very fast emergency trip to North Dakota to be with my extended family for her memorial service.  I was very glad to be able to be there, and to arrive back home safely (There was a lot of middle-of-the-night driving involved).  We're all doing well here, taking great peace and comfort in my grandma's strong Christian faith and how blessed we are to have been able to have her with us for so long.

The kidlets have been staying with Grandma Kathy the last few days, and having a MARVELOUS time. Dr. Peds and I are off to meet them at his parents' cabin in the middle of Minnesota.  We are looking forward to lots of canoe and kayak rides on the lake, and time in a hammock with a few good books.  I'm bringing my camera.

Ironically, today is the day Dr. Peds and I celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary, and we spent our honeymoon at the cabin.  We had actually forgotten it was our tenth anniversary until Tuesday, when I read  on my friend Siri's  blog that she was celebrating her 10th anniversary, and she got married exactly one week before Dr. Peds and I.  Neither Dr. Peds or I are good at remembering our anniversary.  We usually have to look up the actual numerical date because we can't remember if it's May 21, 22, 23, or 24.  It's pretty ridiculous, but at least we BOTH forget.

Anyway, since we found ourselves with absent kidlets and since both of us woke up at 6:00 a.m. anyway and couldn't get back to sleep, we went out for breakfast this morning and bummed around a bit and went grocery shopping.  It was fun.

I’ll have to try and send you both reminder notes every year! 🙂 Solveig actually reminds me usually about mine since she got married exactly five years after Jer and I.

Rachel, I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your grandma. My thoughts are with you and your family.
