Brutus

Brutus

Auntie Dot sort of tricked Dr. Peds into letting us keep Brutus.  I wish you could have seen the faces of the kidlets (especially Sarah) when I told them that Brutus was going to live with us.  They were so happy.  So excited.

Brutus is a honey.  He loves to snuggle and read books.  He sits on my lap when I work at the computer.  He crawls under the covers at night.  He loves to curl up in the papasan chair next to the patio door.

We've spent the week relearning how to open doors to go outside so that Brutus stays in (he has all of his shots except for distemper, so we are trying to keep him in as much as possible).  He's pretty good about letting us pick him up and deposit him back indoors whenever he does get out.

Dr. Peds really love Brutus deep down in his heart, I know it.  He just wouldn't admit it. Here are some clues to prove my theory:

1.  He lets Brutus snuggle up in between us in bed at night.  In fact, he was the one who showed Brutus our bed and told him he could snuggle.

2.  He was the one who went out and bought Brutus as special tag and collar so he could be identified if he did get lost.

3.  He bought Brutus several cat toys, including feathers on a string attached to a pole.  The kidlets run back and forth from one end of the house to the other over and over again dragging these feathers on the ground, and Brutus chases and chases until they all fall down exhausted, or I get so overwhelmed I put the feathers on top of the fridge for a little rest.

I am so excited for you!! And to also have a polydactyl kitty (Isabella is one as well). If you are looking for a good cat toy, they go NUTS over laser pointers.

Rachel- this is so good. I looked at the pics of Brutus many times and really wished he could stay with you. A big part of growing up for a lot of folks is the love of an animal.
Tell Dr Peds that I look at his blog religiously …well, at least constantly and I like it. I do like the Princess story.
And, Rachel, while I’m actually writing, I want to tell you that I know Gramma Zana would be so proud of you for starting your business. She would note the artist’s eye necessary to “block” out a photo and that you certainly have it. gramma j
