Mother’s Day

Mother's Day was a super duper busy day at our house.  We were up and running like usual on a Sunday morning to get everyone off to church.  Auntie Dot, Uncle Don and Gramma Kathy were able to stay and join us for our fun-filled day.  After church and Sunday School, we rushed home, and then I rushed off to my choir concert.  All of my family was able to come to the afternoon concert.  I was pretty nervous about the idea of bringing Mr. SP and The Banana along, but everyone did great.  The Banana sat and listened very, very nicely, and Mr. SP fell asleep not long into the concert and slept all through intermission until the end.  (He was not so happy about missing the cookies at intermission.)  The Banana told me some of the music was CRAZY.  That made me giggle.

After relaxing at home for a bit, and a yummy meal of noodles and cheese for me and the kidlets, we loaded everyone up for a spontaneous, easy evening hike to Rock Knob.  (Actually, Auntie Dot and Uncle Don missed the hike because they were salmon fishing).  The sunset and view were gorgeous, and I had lots of fun taking pictures in the evening light.  It was great seeing all three kidlets running around and exploring on Rock Knob.  The Banana spent most of her time picking dead -grass Mother's Day bouquets for me, and making sure she was the person holding my hand along the trail.  They all picked out special walking sticks from along the path.  We had fun.

He actually asked me to take this picture.  I was happy, happy to comply.

It was also really nice having Dr. Ped's mom with us to celebrate Mothers Day.  She's always up for an adventure:  trips to stone towers, hikes through the forest, choir concerts, emergency escapades to the grocery store.  We love having Grandma at our house.
