The Banana Graduates: Part 1

It has become a bit of a tradition to take some pre-graduation ceremony pictures in front of the white lilac bush at home before the graduate leaves for the ceremony (they have to be there super early!). Grandma Robbie made the long drive for graduation day, and we snuck Peanut Maximus in for a few images as well, even though he had just gotten up from his nap and was not very excited about anything at that moment.

Grandma Robbie brought balloons, and The Banana loves balloons! Right after we took the balloon picture the beautiful blue balloon escaped from it’s string (the balloon filler person didn’t tie the string on, just pressed it in the sealing tape) and rose into the sky to The Banana’s dismay. Peanut Maximus was truly distraught at the sight of the balloon out of reach and climbing higher and higher into the sky. It took awhile to get him calmed back down. (Ironically, a similar scenario happens in one of his favorite picture books, and he was just as sad as the character in the book).
