Camp Aunt Rachel: Session One

The Banana and Mr. TOF brought Cousin Katherine back from their trip to North Dakota for Camp Aunt Rachel. It was a short camp session, filled with all sorts of obligations to work around, but Cousin Katherine is a flexible girl with a good attitude, and we managed to squeeze in a couple trips to different beaches, a long walk with the stroller ride on the Lakewalk all the way to see the lift bridge and glimpse the tall ships that were arriving for the weekend, and cousin trips to get ice cream at Love Creamery. We zoomed over to have a ride on the alpine slide, which for years we have referred to as “the rollercoaster,” and we visited Enger Tower one evening. We attended a baseball game that Mr. TOF was playing in. Mr. TOF and Cousin Katherine went for a fun bike ride around the neighborhood, and The Banana, Peanut Maximus and I went to the beach with Cousin Katherine to watch the tall ships zooming around.

Cousin Katherine introduced Peanut Maximus to the mud kitchen, which he absolutely LOVED. In fact, he loved doing pretty much anything with Cousin Katherine. He especially loved it when his cousin and brother zoomed him around the circumference of Enger Tower again, and again, and again.

We made smoothie popsicles, because Cousin Katherine can’t come to Camp Aunt Rachel without making smoothie popsicles. The best part about smoothie popsicles is that you can eat as many of them as you want.

Cousin Katherine played the piano all throughout the day, and there was plenty of time to read a few good books and have a few cousin-board games.
