Some Things I’m Loving

  • I recently went to see the eye doctor and got a prescription for mid-distance piano glasses. Things had become so frustrating when I was playing the piano or working at my computer and I was starting to feel more and more out of it. Reading glasses didn’t work. My regular glasses didn’t work. I didn’t know if there would actually be a fix, but there was! The eye doctor nailed the prescription (he was so goofy and confident about how happy I would be, and I he was RIGHT!) I could not be thrilled with my new glasses! I have three cheap pairs, one for the piano, one for the desktop computer, and one for the laptop. They are all cat eyes, and now I can see my work perfectly. It is such a relief! I was so excited when I put them on that I was literally jumping in my desk seat. The Devious Snail found it pretty humorous.
  • After purchasing some new houseplants with a gift card a piano student had given me, I tried out a houseplant identification app on my iPad, and I love it! Take a picture of your houseplant, and it will tell you what it is! Then you can read and find out how to take care of it. It is so nice to know what I’m nurturing.
  • Peaches! Every year we get a box of special peaches that are trucked up from a special ranch in Colorado for a fundraiser, and they are so amazing. It’s like two weeks of eating bliss for meals and snacks.
  • I have a new laptop. I love that my work can be portable again. I have mostly been using my iPad and desktop, which works for most things, but sometimes I just need to type things on the go or in an inspiring place, and the laptop is lovely.
  • Flowers in the neighborhood and in the meadows are in their peak, and it is joy for the eyes.
