Mess of the Week: Extreme Cooking Edition

I was too overwhelmed to take a picture, so you get to see this image of a lovely autumn branch instead.

Last week I was deeply reading a book on the couch while Peanut Maximus was playing. These days, when I read a book I wear my reading glasses. Reading glasses help me to see the page clearly, the text lovely and crisp. Reading glasses make everything beyond the page quite blurry. I really can’t see what is happening across the room.

Peanut Maximus was so busy playing by himself, and so happy! I was getting so much reading done, and my book was so interesting!

After a bit he came over to the couch and asked me to help him clean his dusty pants. I looked up from my book. Dusty pants? Why were his pants covered with white dust?

Then I took off my reading glasses. Peanut Maximus had emptied three kitchen cupboards and two drawers of pots, pans, plastic storage bowls, lettuce spinners, cleaning rags, and all the miscellaneous kitchen utensils, and he had been “cooking” with real genuine flour. Flour was everywhere. Everywhere. All over him. All over the rug. All over the floor. All over all the dishes. All over the toys. All over the blankets on the floor.

No wonder he had been playing so quietly and happily.
