Band Concert

When he was a preschooler Mr. TOF was obsessed with marching bands. He would pretend to be a marching band every day, and my mom even sewed him a marching band costume for Christmas one year. He was so excited. He grew up watching YaYa and then the Devious Snail march in the Christmas parade and went to all of their band concerts. Even though he was already playing the viola, he wanted to make sure he also played a band instrument so he could be in band at school.
He has really been enjoying high school band this year (his first year in a new building and with the high school band teacher) and was actually really excited to be wearing the school marching band uniform at their first concert this fall. He’s been waiting for that marching band uniform for years, and although he was a little surprised it wasn’t necessarily constructed with high quality materials, “It still looks great from the audience,” he stated.
“When I go to school on Friday mornings and the percussionists are playing the cadence in sectionals, it gives me goosebumps.” Although it was a hard choice not to sing in the choir or especially play viola in the school orchestra, band is going to be a good fit for this guy, who is very much looking forward to playing in pep band at sporting functions. He’s also always wanted to play in the jazz band.
He actually ASKED me to make sure I got pictures and told me right where I should sit to get the best view of his bass trombone!
