April was National Poetry Month, and I celebrated by reading poems, writing a few poems and incorporating poems every day at lunch with Peanut Maximus, who was quite enthusiastic about listening to poems at lunch. (Every day at lunch we also count numbers on our abacus and sometimes read a special Bible Story). Peanut Maximus loved the poem “Beavers in November” which is rhythmic and repetitive. He actually requests it every single day, because three year olds LOVE repetition in every form.
Mr. TOF is deep into the high school baseball season, which means there are practices and games all the time and juggling that with the concert season for his viola, trombone and choir is a little crazy.
YaYa came to visit! Peanut Maximus was so excited to go on adventures with her.
I got new walking shoes. Getting new shoes always eats at my soul, but it needed to happen. I am always surprised at how much of a difference it makes when I actually get the new shoes for walking. It feels like walking shoes should last for years. They definitely do not.
We’ve been loving time outside! My hammock is up! The cushions are out on the outdoor sofa. We ate lunch outside multiple times over the weekend when the weather was stellar. Every spring I love lying in the sunshine on the deck with my sweatshirt hood over my head (so I don’t get sunburned) listening to my big windchimes. Warmth from the sun just feels so different and lovely.
Every day Peanut Maximus plays imaginary baseball with his imaginary baseball team. He has two special imaginary friends who are always around, but on baseball days they invite their imaginary siblings and other imaginary friends (who also have names) to come and play.
The crocuses in our yard are almost finished but the forsythia bush is just getting started today.
