Succulents on the Front Porch

Last June I had some succulent plants that had gone a little crazy, so I chopped them off and stuck the ends in a big, shallow terracotta pot I had hanging around. I plopped them on the front porch, thinking for sure they would rot in the wet, cool climate even though it is a spot that gets a lot of sunlight. To my surprise, they absolutely thrived and grew maniacally, even sprouting little babies in between the bigger pieces. They’ve made me happy every time I’ve gone out on the front porch all summer and into the fall.
