From the Sunday School Room

I teach three year old Sunday School.  It is a riot.  I’m pretty sure it’s the most fun you could possibly have on a Sunday morning.  There are a lot of vibrant personalities in my class, and yesterday morning, my most matter of fact, clearly spoken Sunday School student was the last in her class to be picked up by her parents.  She was getting a little frustrated that her parents were delayed, and suggested that I pick her up and hold her.  So I did.  While I had her on my hip, she placed her Sunday School papers on top of my head.

Student:  Look!  I’m making you a hat!

Me:  Oh!  What a wonderful idea!

Student:  Yes, I thought so.

Me:  What kind of hat is it?  Is it a Princess hat? (this child loves princesses)

Student:  (pauses to look at me rather disdainfully with a frown on her face)  Well, no.  It is an old lady hat.
