Indoor Camping

The kidlets are constantly building tents everywhere, out of all sorts of scavenged materials.  When I was teaching piano lessons on Thursday, Dr. Peds set up the real outdoor camping tent (a small version perfect for kids) that Auntie Dot gave us a few years ago when she discovered that a full sized adult doesn’t really fit comfortably inside.  They were beyond thrilled, of course.   Plans for actually sleeping in it had to be thrown out, however, when The Banana was having a difficult evening due to a lack of afternoon napping and dramatically had to be tucked into her actual bed for the night at an early hour.

Mr. SP and YaYa had a bit of time to play in the tent in the dark with the base parts of some of Dr. Peds’ special light sabers, which flash all sorts of interesting colors.  After a bit, I climbed inside the tent as well, and told Storyteller stories about robots on planet Slurp.  When that got too crazy, everyone went off to bed.  While all the kidlets were snoring, I read a novel on the couch.  There’s nothing like reading a novel from cover to cover.  Wonderful.
