St. Patrick’s Day: Mama’s Lack of Irish Blood Makes an Appearance

Despite the fact that I was up making green pancakes at an early hour and that everyone did have the opportunity to eat Irish soda bread, Kidlets kept asking me all day, “Why are we not REALLY celebrating this holiday.”  They missed the blasting celtic music that usually wakes them up.  Dr. Peds was on call the night before and didn’t get home in until the next afternoon.  For the record, I did dress everyone in green and offer them leprechaun hats to wear, but they passed on the hats.  The Banana was excited about the green ribbon in her hair and the leprechaun footprints at preschool.  Mr. Sneaky Pants was frustrated that he didn’t have school and had to go to music class with me instead of encountering mischievous leprechauns.  Ya Ya was frustrated that she DID have to go to school even though Mr. SP did not because it was the day of kindergarten round-up for next year’s kindergarteners.

Squirmy, with his cute green shirt, was a big hit with all the grandmas at music class who were more than happy to give him smiles and kisses.  He’s quite the little charmer.
