A Short But Great Visit: The Not-Baby Pictures

It turns out I really like visiting my brother and my super terrific sister-in-law at their house.  Every time I go there I end up having a really great time, and this was certainly not an exception.  How could I not have a great time when I spent most of the afternoon snuggling an amazing little baby?  I did sneak in a few pictures of the action, however.  And most of the action had to do with my fantastic nephew, Jack.  I can call him fantastic because I am an auntie.  And aunties can do that.  Jack is a comical riot.  And a nice kid.  And he thoroughly charmed me and entertained me the entire time I was there.

Jack and YaYa and all of the smart grown ups in the room built tracks for cars and trains. There was a bit of indoor baseball practice.  We played with all of Jack’s new Christmas presents.  Jack drummed on his drum for me, but when I asked if I could drum for him, he looked at me like I was crazy and said simply, “No.”  I hooted with laughter.  Jack likes trucks and cars and combines.  He and my brother build some terrific towers with blocks.  You know how much heart soars when I see kids building things with blocks.  Blocks are my favorite toys ever.

My dad came to visit as well, and Jack was super thrilled to have Papa at his house.  He really loves his Papa, and wanted Papa to do everything with him.

Do you think Daddy and son look alike? I found a picture of Dad at about 2 1/2 and wow, could be brothers.
