A Weekend with Dot

When she left Friday morning, Dot forgot her purse with many essential items inside, as well as several other things at our house. It all turned out well, though, because she ended up not having to work at her internship (which is only 20 miles away from our house . . . hooray!) and was able to drive back down to spend the weekend with us. It was so great to see her. She just blends in so seemlessly. There were many board games played, much relaxing outside, lots of books read, and one big happy festival with her dog.

Dot loves her dog. She really, really loves her dog. And because I love Dot, even I have grown to love her dog. The dog is a good dog. She listens to Dot better than my kids listen to me. All three of the kidlets love the dog.

We took the dag to the beach Saturday evening, and she had so much fun chasing waves that she actually made herself sick. She drank so much water that the poor canine just opened her mouth and dripped water. In streams. She was miserable. I was so happy that she didn’t throw up in my van on the way back, or my house. After a few hours she was feeling spunkier again, but Dot decided not to try driving back to her internship that night like she had planned. So we got to spend another extra day with Dot and the dog.DotjanaphoneThis is Dot, snuggling her semi-wet, sick dog  on a rock at the beach while texting on her cell phone with her new husband Don.  Doesn’t she look happy?
