Grandma Brings an Easter Egg Hunt

My mom brought Easter eggs with her, and unlike chintzy me, who fills the eggs with coupons or pennies or something like that, she filled them with candy.  I forget every year just how much my kidlets love a good Easter egg hunt, even if there is NOTHING in the eggs at all. They were so excited to search around the yard to find the eggs, and they had a wonderful time opening up all the eggs and stuffing their mouths with  enormous quantities of sugar.

They were looking for the egg on the window sill.

Check out these cheeks stuffed with jellybeans:

There would be no sharing candy with grandma.

Thankfully at least one person had pity on her.

Without any really good reason, I’m in tears as I look through your blog. I just love your family and we have felt so blessed by you guys, in so many different ways, in the very short time we’ve known each other. Everything from the beads Hannah gave Annabel, to seeing (out of the corner of my eye) Greg clean up mine and Annabel’s dishes at church, to drinking the Norseman’s Grog coffee this morning that he snuck into our van. You guys have totally, completely blessed us. Thank you! And we just love your family. You are a beautiful and capable mama and I look forward to years of continued swapping of stories and anxieties together. 😀

Without any really clear reason, I’m in tears as I look through your blog. Your family is so beautiful, and you (all 6 of you) have already blessed my family so much in the very short time we’ve know each other. It’s everything from the shared excitement over light sabers to the beads from Hannah to the Norseman’s Grog coffee I drank this morning that you guys snuck into our van. And most of all, the shared introvert neuroticism and anxieties over motherhood and the struggle to be the kind of people we want to be – all of it. We loved, loved, loved sharing it with you over the weekend, and I look forward to years of friendship to come.
