People Loving Girl

I’m so glad that we have a park within walking distance of our house.  When we first moved in, the park had hardly any playground equipment in it, and the next year they removed that equipment and we had NO playground for several years, until the neighborhood raised enough money to fund the installation of a new playground.  It is such a fun, quick destination for us.

The Banana always seems to find a new friend at the park.  And at the library. And at church.   And in a waiting room.  Wherever she goes, The Banana enjoys meeting people her size and striking up a conversation with them.  It just never ceases to amaze me how much this child loves people!  She likes to do things with other people, no matter what the task.  Even if I find something amazing for her to do by herself, she prefers to do something else if it can be with another person.  When I was in college and studying education,  one of my professors talked all about those extroverted, gregarious learners, that just need to learn with other people.  The idea was so far out of my own experience, that I didn’t really believe her until The Banana came into my life.

What a special girl. She has a wonderful ability to make us all feel so special. Wonder what she will do when she grows up.
