Scenes from Valley City

Pictures do not do justice to the density and roundness and rolls on the appendages of my most adorable little niece, who looks like a china doll and has an extremely laid back, relaxed disposition.  I could not get enough of her!  It was such turmoil to decide if I should hand her over to someone else so I could take pictures of her, or just steal her away for myself.  In Valley City we ate pizza from Pizza Corner, visited our favorite thrift stores, purchased “Grandma Kathy hot dogs” from the meat market, and bonded with the kidlets’ favorite horse, Max.  They also had the opportunity to do chores with Grandma Kathy and visit a new baby colt that was just a couple of days old.  There were many trips up and down the long, smooth driveway on bikes, trikes and big wheels.  Only once did someone (Cousin Alex) fall off the horse, and although that was a bit traumatic, both for Alex the victim and Mr. SP who was supposed to be holding on to him, everyone adjusted and got over it.  There was lots and lots of snuggling with Baby Katherine.  We were a bit sad to have to leave so soon, but school and homework awaited in the direction of home.
