Summer! Ahhhh!
Here are some things I am currently fully enjoying.
2. At least once a day I cannot refrain myself from poking around in the wormery to see how the composting worms are getting along with our food wastes. It's so interesting to watch which refuse they slurp around first, and how they congregate around it in a big squiggly mass. They entertain me to no end.
3. I love the late-setting sun! It is such a joy to read out loud to Sarah and Mr. Sneaky Pants until 8:00 and still have an hour of daylight!
4. The forests are thick with leaves and foliage, which seems so strange after staring at bare trees and ground all winter and spring. It took forever for the leaves to arrive on the trees because the weather was so cold, and now, suddenly, everything is thick and lush, and lovely. (The mosquitos think so, too!)
5. Garage sales. Oh the bliss!
6. Since school is out for summer, I no longer have to start preparing lunch at 10:20 a.m. It takes a while to get everything ready for lunch with kidlets scrambling around under my feet, and Sarah had to be ready to get on the bus at 11:00, which meant a very early lunch for the rest of us. Lunch just seems more like lunch when I can start thinking about it at 11:30 in the morning.
