Happy Fourth of July!

Around here, the best part of the Fourth of July is undeniably the kid parade in the middle of the morning, a haphazard, slightly chaotic mass exodus of kids, parents and families up and down our street, cheered on by elderly neighbors in the area who don’t have kids or grandkids visiting.  We barely made it to the start on time, due to an amazingly crazy diaper mess and, ahem, a bit of disorganization on my part regarding the decorating of Banana’s bike.  But we got there, and The Banana had a wonderful time riding her bike, and Mr. Trouble on Feet and I walked with the stroller, which was haphazardly decorated with blue and red streamers.  We spent the morning visiting with friends and neighbors and having a great time eating refreshments that my kidlets never see in the morning any other time of the year.  We were glad that Dr. Peds could take a teensy break from the hospital to come and watch the parade.  It would have been a shame to miss.

Tuesday I got a strong need to come Duluth to see the neighborhood parade. Enjoyed it so much last year, walking in the neighbor afterwards, and to the seeing the ducks with SP and Banana. But Grandpa called to work and found out he was on the schedule to work on Friday. Which he normally isn’t.
