Sunny Day

Friday morning was beautifully overcast, but by noon the sun was blazing and the temperature was climbing, and a decision was made to head to the sandy beach with our neighbors halfway down the street.  The sand was burning hot and sitting on it felt literally like I was baking in an oven.  Out on the water, in the breeze, though, things were cool and manageable.  We brought the kayak and the paddleboard, and the kids swam and jumped and splashed and exhausted themselves.  Mr. Trouble on Feet spent his time on shore with me for the first part of the afternoon, and then settled in the kayak with me, which he loved as long as the paddle didn’t drip on him and the big kids didn’t come up and splash the boat.
