At the Cabin Part One: Waiting for the Iowa Cousins

We arrived at the cabin in the early evening, greeted by Grandma Kathy and Auntie Dot’s family, who had already arrived.  After some food and of course some swimming in the lake, we went on a sunset boat ride and then nestled in to wait for the Iowa cousins who were stuck in the typical summer Friday afternoon traffic jam on the west side of the Cities.  The kidlets were so happy to find the comics section from several old newspapers.  Since we don’t get a paper version of the newspaper, they really don’t see the comics section very often, although they love to read Calvin and Hobbes books and Garfield comics books from the library.  I loved seeing them curled up in their chairs with newspapers.
