At The Cabin Part Five: Roasting Over the Fire

The Iowa Crew always seems to find interesting things to roast on the fire, and after locating this large grilling contraption, Dot’s dog’s stuffed pheasant became the victim.  It was actually so dripping wet that it did not catch fire.  That pheasant is the slimiest, nastiest piece of fuzz you’ll ever come across, and Dot’s dog adores it.  It gets thrown in the lake, thrown in the dirt and it is utterly disgusting when the dog drops it on your lap.  Lucky for Jana the dog, the pheasant came through the roasting ordeal with little damage, and was put to use again soon after.

The Iowa cousins also found some clams in the lake and decided to roast them alive  on the fire. It’s probably a good thing clams do not have a brain.

Speaking of roasting, however, we did roast amazing hot dots over the fire, and Auntie Dot made some amazing smores with all sorts of exotic ingredients, including pineapple and peanut butter and other delicious things.  My smore had brownies, marshmallows, peanut butter, and fudge all smashed in between two girl scout cookies.  It was FANTASTIC!
