First Time Using Scissors

I caught Mr. Trouble on Feet coming around the corner with not one but two pairs of child scissors in his hands and a grin on his face, and for a second I thought about snatching them away and putting them out of reach, and then I remembered that my boy is not a baby anymore, and I said, “Oh!  Would you like to use these scissors?”  He did.  He was so excited he bopped to the table, where I cut a piece of paper from the recycling bin into strips and then put the scissors in his hand the best I could and let him go to town snipping little squares.

He loved it.  He sat there at the table for more than 30 minutes totally focused on his task, snipping away.  We cut all the yellow paper and moved on to strips of white paper.  He was so proud of each square and of the big pile of snips on the table.

He looks so proud of himself. I just loved those years when they would find out how to do new things. Way to go TOF.
