Welcome 2013

Happy New Year!  We said goodbye to 2012 and hello to 2013 at the annual kid-friendly party our neighbors up the street throw each year.  We love going so much, and we’re always elated each year when our friends confirm that they are indeed having the party again.  It’s so fun!  “Midnight” happens at eight o’clock, and the celebration is one big mass of dancing kids with noisemakers and balloons, silly string and fake champagne for small people, (the adults have the real thing, I think).  The disco ball spins and the dancing is crazy!

Mr. TOF didn’t really know what kind of party he was about to attend as we left the door, but he marched up the street with confidence, because it’s always fun at our friends’ house, and the word party means extra special fun, right?  He had the time of his life!  He loved the party hats.  He loved the noisemakers.  He loved the glow in the dark bracelets.  He had the moves on the dance floor (the kid can really swing his little hips, I’m telling you).  He found a princess dress and high heels to wear, which cracked up a lot of people, because he really, really loved spinning as fast as he could in that ridiculous dress.  Furthermore, he located the unsupervised snack table and feasted on “num nums,” before he discovered the juice table, where he learned to pour himself glasses of juice before we realized what he was doing and put a supervised moratorium on juice drinking.  In the picture on the left he’s taking it easy with a glass of juice, accompanied by the chief supervisor.

When we arrived back home, Mr. TOF declared that more parties should be in the future.  “Party.  More Party.”
