A Clean and Tidy Nose

Our sick month has brought one certain thing to my attention:  this overly cautious boy of mine is not a fan of snot.  He can’t stand the stuff.  He doesn’t like even a drip coming out of his nose, and has a nice handle on the whereabouts of the nearest Kleenex box no matter where he is in the house.  When they were smaller, you would find my other children toddling around with giant green drips of snot hanging out their noses when they were sick.  I was always chasing them down and battling them with a tissue in my hand.  Sometimes that meant I had to tackle them to wipe their noses.  Keeping their noses clean when they had colds was a lot of constant work punctuated by wailing and screaming.  This boy brings me a tissue and points to his nose, waiting expectantly,  about every two minutes.  I think he takes after his Grandma Robbie.  She doesn’t tolerate snot of any kind either.
