At the Children’s Museum

Mr. Trouble on Feet loves going to the children’s museum.  We haven’t gone often over the past few months, and that clearly has been a mistake, because it is quite possibly his favorite place in the city.  He loves digging in the dinosaur bone pit.  He loves dressing up.  He loves playing house and planting the pretend garden and riding the in the gigantic pedal sail boat.  He loves the ball tube that causes balls to hover in the air.  He loves the magnet wall and riding on a stick horse around the castle, and everything else there is to do there.  We will definitely be making it a point to go more regularly in the upcoming weeks.

Leaving the children’s museum is not a smooth affair.  Leaving the children’s museum directly results in a tantrum of one sort or another.  Leaving the children’s museum is sad, sad, sad.  It makes a little guy mad when he doesn’t understand what possibly be more important than staying and playing.  Luckily, at this point I’ve had a lot of experience with tantrums, and after explaining nicely a few times, I just pick him up and get out of the building as fast as I can and he screams his way home in the car.
