Middle Child Drama: Problems with Sisters

He was upset because his big sister got to the ball first.

This morning Mr. Sneaky Pants was having a difficult time adjusting to the fact that it was morning. In other words, he woke up in a horribly bad mood. I was snuggling him on the couch, while The Banana was toddling around, back and forth between the couch and the activity table where a variety of legos awaited her chubby little hands. Every once in a while she would come over and give Mr. Sneaky Pants a little pat. This is very sweet to most everyone in the world except Mr. Sneaky Pants, who has always had a great aversion to being touched by his baby sister. He hates her pats, and melts down when she grabs a section of his hair (which is understandable because she does have a Herculean grip).

Mr. SP: I don’t like that Hannah.

Me: We love Hannah.

Mr. SP: Not me. I don’t like that Hannah.

Me: We need to love Hannah. God gave her to us special.

Mr. SP: Well, I don’t like that Hannah.

Me: We all LOVE Hannah. Even you.

Mr. SP: Well, I only love her when she’s having a nap.
