Feeling Yucky
The town I used to teach 7-12 grade English at a few years ago was devastated by a very nasty tornado Sunday night. I just looked at some pictures of the destruction on the Grand Forks Herald website, and I really feel terrible. I know those houses. I know those people. I know those businesses. And I really felt sick looking at the arial picture of the school. (follow the links at the website to see photos of the damage.) My former classroom looks bombarded, and the damage is so, so extensive. There is a tree right in the space I parked daily. The beautiful church next door to the school is minus most of its windows. I just feel bad. Northwood is a great town, with really neat people.
