Boy with a Pink Barrette

Mr. Perpetual Mess BEGS to wear these little barrettes that belong to his sister, and she gets so furious, chastising him until she’s nearly in tears that boys are not supposed to be wearing barrettes. I let him wear them around because it makes him happy, and he’s very confident of being a boy, and because these barrettes, along with nearly all others, will not stay in either of my girls’ thin and wispy hair. I need some hair enjoyment as a mother! If only my girls could have had these thick, lucious curls and long batting eyelashes.
