The Middle Child

All of the sudden, this little guy has become a reader. In the last few weeks he is just soaking up children’s picture books. I love snuggling next to him and reading, especially since for the first 22 months of his life he wanted nothing to do with books.

In addition to reading, and giving me frequent updates on his lovely pink alligator (see post below) he’s been turning anything he can stand on into a snowboard, which he refers to as his ice board. He waves his arms around and pretends he’s sailing downhill. He has transformed the couch into his own personal boat. Ms. Crazy Preschooler gets to be his puppy on board, and The Banana plays the part of the shark swimming in the ocean, which is really the living room carpet.

He’s also been lunch for a swarm of mosquitos. Mosquitos LOVE him. They leave me alone. They leave Ms. CP alone. They leave The Banana alone, but they literally attack him! The back of his neck looks like he has the chicken pox. They’ve massacred the sweet soft skin behind his ears. I think they’ve bitten out chunks of flesh, because they leave these gaping wounds that bleed and scab over.
