Christmas Scenes: Miscellaneous Images from Christmas Day

Santa brought breakfast:  cereal and bananas.  KaKa is actually eating someone else’s cereal for a late afternoon snack in these pictures, but everyone enjoyed their tiny box of cereal in the morning too:  Fruit Loops, Trix, Lucky Charms, Cocoa Crispies,  all the things no one gets to eat except for Christmas morning.  I LOVE the tradition of Santa putting breakfast in everyone’s stocking.  It is something for everyone to look forward to right away when they wake up, and it makes the morning so easy!  My mother in law (who I credit with starting this a generation ago) is so brilliant.

There were marching bands with heavy drums, loud horns, and cowboy boots.  Everyone LOVED Hungry Hippos, with good reason.  Who doesn’t love a good game of Hungry Hippos?  It’s noisy, and silly, and let’s face it:  it’s fun to be greedy and munch up all those marbles.  Everyone wanted to play Hungry Hippos all day.  All the time.

The Banana spent a long time spirographing, and YaYa cut out some amazing, intricate snowflakes using ideas from a really neat book that she got.  There was a marathon of “Little House on the Prairie” that involved a lot of laughing and fun.  Mrs. Olsen and Nellie are just so wonderfully over the top.
