Snow Chairs in the Middle of the Forest

Our neighbor halfway down the street texted Dr. Peds last Saturday and mentioned that he was taking his girls on a forced march through Hartley.  When I stopped laughing hysterically, I told Dr. Peds to text back that we’d join him.  Saturday afternoon was spent tromping and traipsing through the forest with a gaggle of kids.  It was a wonderfully warm day, and the goal was fresh air for all, and wearing out some cooped up energy.  We went exploring.  We hiked on trails and through deep snow, and in the end somehow ended up a tad bit lost and on a ski trail, which a somewhat grouchy gentleman with a mustache (on skis) chewed us out for.  To our credit we were being very careful not to walk on the ski tracks.  But, of course, we weren’t supposed to be walking there at all.  Ho hum.  Sorry, Mr. Grouchy Skier Guy.

In the middle of the forest we stopped for a break  and made snow chairs.  There was a small snowball fight.  It was a relaxed  afternoon in the snow.
