Babysitters: Part one

Meet the first of our three magnificent babysitters. This week is the last week they will be watching my chaotic trio, and we have appreciated them SO much. Not only is this fine teenager responsible and caring, she plays with my kids and pretends with them, puts them in time out when they need to be removed from situations (about every ten minutes) and manages to feed all three supper at the same time. She is also hilarious. A few months ago I had the best time accompanying Carly on her cello, and I recently discovered that not only does she like to read to my kids, she also reads the classics, speaks almost fluent Spanish (she spent her early childhood in Argentina) AND is in forensics. What more can a former English teacher ask for in a babysitter?

I tried desperately to get a picture of all three of my kids with her at the same time, but it turned into a zoo. Ms. Crazy Preschooler has been chewing on her lips and was crying because they hurt and she was also STARVING because supper was twenty minutes late. Mr. Perpetual Mess was bumped early on in the picture taking process and couldn’t recover, and The Banana wouldn’t look at the camera for the life of her due to all the tumultous action occuring around her. So, this is what we got, and to tell the truth, it’s probably a very accurate picture of what poor Carly had to manage every Tuesday afternoon for the last two years.
